National Association for Fitness Certification (NAFC) Accreditation
NAFC is the only organization in the Fitness Industry that is an Accredited Certification Content AND Continuing Education provider. NAFC is accredited by the International Accreditors of Continuing Education and Training (IACET), and applies rigorous standards for education content development, examination development, objective alignment, and quality. All NAFC certifications and continuing education follow strict examination development and administration processes and requirements.
NAFC Primary Certifications (Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, and AASDN Nutrition Specialist Certifications under revision for re-release in 2022)
- NAFC follows standards as required by licensure organizations including a scope of practice, test specifications, question review committee, and exam administration.
- NAFC certification examination processes are managed by a psychometrician (examination expert), who oversees cut score determination using the widely accepted Modified Angoff method and examination processes including yearly exam statistic reviews.
- Question writing experts develop examination questions using CLEAR (Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation) standards and content experts review questions to determine level of difficulty, clarity, and relevance to the field.
- NAFC monitors evaluations regularly from students to update course content, examination, and certification processes through our IACET Accreditation requirements. A psychometrician reviews examination question statistics (P values, SEE, and Test Objectivity) yearly.
NAFC Secondary Certifications (Yoga 200, new release 2020 and Pilates Mat 1 new release 2022)

- A psychometrician reviews all secondary certification examinations.
